Seventh-Day
Adventists
Summary:
Seventh-Day Adventism is a cultic religion that
legalistically turns minor issues of the Bible into major
doctrinal points. Adventists adamantly, yet
ignorantly, believe that believers should meet on Saturday, and they also
have mistaken beliefs
regarding meat and hell.

1) The Bible teaches that church services should be held
on Saturday.
2) You do not burn forever in Hell--you just get annihilated.
3) You should not eat certain meats.

1) Saints of the new testament met on
Sunday, and to judge someone for not keeping
the Sabbath is unscriptural. |

Colossians 2:14-15 "Blotting out the
handwriting of ordinances that was against
us, which was contrary to us, and took it
out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And
having spoiled principalities and powers, he
made a shew of them openly, triumphing over
them in it. Let no man therefore judge
you in meat, or in drink, or in
respect of an holyday, or of the new
moon, or of the sabbath days:"
Acts 20:7 "And upon the first day
of the week, when the disciples came
together to break bread, Paul preached unto
them, ready to depart on the morrow; and
continued his speech until midnight."
John 20:19 "Then the same day at
evening, being the first day of the week,
when the doors were shut where the disciples
were assembled for fear of the Jews, came
Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto
them, Peace be unto you."
1 Corinthians 16:1-2 "Now concerning
the collection for the saints, as I have
given order to the churches of Galatia, even
so do ye. Upon the first day of the week
let every one of you lay by him in store, as
God hath prospered him, that there be no
gatherings when I come." |

2) Individuals who die without accepting
Christ as their savior will burn for ever
and ever in the literal flames of hell. |

Luke 16:19-31 "There was a certain
rich man, which was clothed in purple and
fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
And there was a certain beggar named
Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of
sores, And desiring to be fed with the
crumbs which fell from the rich man's table:
moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
And it came to pass, that the beggar died,
and was carried by the angels into Abraham's
bosom: the rich man also died, and was
buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes,
being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar
off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried
and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me,
and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of
his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for
I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham
said, Son, remember that thou in thy
lifetime receivedst thy good things, and
likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is
comforted, and thou art tormented. And
beside all this, between us and you there is
a great gulf fixed: so that they which would
pass from hence to you cannot; neither can
they pass to us, that would come from
thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore,
father, that thou wouldest send him to my
father's house: For I have five brethren;
that he may testify unto them, lest they
also come into this place of torment.
Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and
the prophets; let them hear them. And he
said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went
unto them from the dead, they will repent.
And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses
and the prophets, neither will they be
persuaded, though one rose from the dead."
Note: Luke 16 is not a parable because no
parables use common nouns. Luke 16
references Abraham, Lazarus, and Moses.
Revelation 20:10 "And the devil that
deceived them was cast into the lake of fire
and brimstone, where the beast and the false
prophet are, and shall be tormented
day and night for ever and ever."
Matthew 25:41 "Then shall he say also
unto them on the left hand, Depart from me,
ye cursed, into everlasting fire,
prepared for the devil and his angels"
Mark. 9:43 "And if thy hand offend
thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to
enter into life maimed, than having two
hands to go into hell, into the fire that
never shall be quenched:" |
3) Commanding to abstain from meats is a
doctrine of the devil that glorifies the
abstainer and does not honor God. |

1 Timothy 4:1-4 "Now the Spirit
speaketh expressly, that in the latter times
some shall depart from the faith, giving
heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of
devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having
their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to
abstain from meats, which God hath
created to be received with thanksgiving of
them which believe and know the truth.
For every creature of God is good, and
nothing to be refused, if it be received
with thanksgiving:"
Mark 7:15-20 "There is nothing
from without a man, that entering into him
can defile him: but the things which
come out of him, those are they that defile
the man. If any man have ears to hear, let
him hear. And when he was entered into the
house from the people, his disciples asked
him concerning the parable. And he saith
unto them, Are ye so without understanding
also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever
thing from without entereth into the man, it
cannot defile him; Because it entereth not
into his heart, but into the belly, and
goeth out into the draught, purging all
meats? And he said, That which cometh out of
the man, that defileth the man."
Romans 14:2 "For
one believeth that he may eat all things:
another, who is weak, eateth herbs."
Colossians 2:20-23 "Wherefore if ye
be dead with Christ from the rudiments of
the world, why, as though living in the
world, are ye subject to ordinances, (Touch
not; taste not; handle not; Which all
are to perish with the using;) after the
commandments and doctrines of men? Which
things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will
worship, and humility, and neglecting of the
body: not in any honour to the satisfying of
the flesh."
Many Seventh-Day Adventists also believe,
in practice and conversation, that it is a
combination of grace and their works that
results in salvation. The following verse
says the contrary (also read Eph. 2:8-9).
Galations 5:1-6 "Stand fast therefore
in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us
free, and be not entangled again with the
yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto
you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall
profit you nothing. For I testify again to
every man that is circumcised, that he is a
debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become
of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are
justified by the law; ye are fallen from
grace. For we through the Spirit wait for
the hope of righteousness by faith. For in
Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth
any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith
which worketh by love."
